Masculine Deer Birthday Card

A friend requested a card for her teenage nephew-- thankfully she didn't see me frown-- cards for teenage boys? Does it get any harder than that? Obviously, sympathy cards can be emotionally difficult, but I'd say for me, teenage boy cards are most difficult in terms of design.

Tell me in the comments what *you* think is the most difficult card type to design.

Here's what I ended up with, and in spite of my apprehension it came together rather quickly:

Supplies:
  • Strathmore watercolor paper painted with stripes of Black Soot Distress Stain
  • While still wet, I added old clear embossing powder and heat embossed it
  • The circle was punched with a die from Autumn (thanks!)
  • Deer die by Hampton Art cut from Tim Holtz's paper
  • Greenery die by Tim Holtz cut from a scrap of DP
  • Sentiment panel is vintage typewriter paper, crumpled, inked with Antique Linen DI, then stamped with a birthday greeting from Target's dollar bin inked in Ground Espresso from Tim's Mixed Media palette.
I'll share this with the following challenges:

    1. I just got it on the Target dollar bins in a set-- they are just generic, no brand stamps...cane in a cute set with a thank you and a hooray and a hello :)

  4. I love making cards for boys and men, but the teenaged boys ones sure are tricky. I got 5 nephews and there will be a time where I’ll go through a lot of struggles making cards for them all, lol. Love the stripes!
