Mojo Monday 218 Sketch

Mojo218- Mimi

Mojo 218: Christmas Greetings

Let's see how this goes for my inaugural competitive card post!  (-- I don't mean the card--let's see if I can get it to even post properly!)

This was an accidental card, the "card that was never meant to be!"  It started out as a "Feliz Navidad" card for my best friend's family in Mexico, and it sat on my craft trunk for days with no love from me... just wasn't feelin' it. (In fact, it was like the "misfit" card, largely made up of unloved scraps, and bits and pieces of projects unfinished, and now used for unitended purposes!) So when I saw the new Mojo sketch (which I also wasn't "feelin'" at the time), I thought, "Well, let's see how skilled I am!  It's a challenge!"

So here it is, built upon 60# parchment in greytone.  The gold mat at back has been in the stash forever, unknown make.  Hot-red houndstooth/grid is "Pretty Girl" by MME, So Sophie line (LOVE IT).  Flowers are Prima (I think... I dump my tubes into a bin-- sorry!).  Leaves are by Recollections.  Sheet music and red wool yarn inherited.  I typed the greeting with just Edwardian, then printed it on parchment in brown, then cut out by hand and chalked edges with ColorBox creamy brown.  "Pearls" are just Scribbles white mist puff paint!

Hello, my people!

Finally got an image up!  This card was made for a Mojo sketch combined with a Shabby Tea Room challenge a few weeks ago, and I think it is the card that made me want to begin competing in online sketch challenges.  It was one of those projects that took very little effort and utilized mere scraps that had started piling up-- maybe that's why I like it so much: it's not the best card, but because of the combination of using scraps and being so easily made, it gets "the nod" from me!

In the future I will come up with a better format for describing my projects, but for now I will just blog with abandon!

For starters...
