Library Card set of 6

I made these fun cards a couple weeks ago, and just saw them in my "drafts" file!  Uh oh.  They are too cool to keep to myself, though, if I do say so myself.

Well, so I didn't add glitter.

Supplies:

• Library card bases
• Dylusions sprays (including the White Linen which has pigment requiring some shaking...)
• The gals were all cut from some old crochet catalog for hats
• The quotes were from my snippet tin from old books
• Tim Holtz stencils used including Clockwork, Plus, Floral, and Diamonds.

That's all there is to this.  I'll share these at the following challenges:

Lifetime Friendship tag

I'll mail this to my bestie.

Supplies:

• Library card base smeared around the edges with Forest Moss DOx directly
• Center inked with Antique Linen DOx, but it wasn't as bold so I used an Antique Linen Distress Crayon.
• Next wiped the card with a baby wipe
• Added white Liquitex gesso to the center for even more contrast
• I tried to ink Distress Embossing Ink through Tim's Florals stencil but my pad needs re-inking (or straight-up replacement). The Ranger Princess Gold only stuck hardly, and, further, when I first went to emboss it, I meant to grab the Potting Soil EP anyway.  Huh. Funny how things with out... or don't.
• Used an old letterpress-type plate from an antique shop to stamp the background-- it's a diagram of something mechanical but I have no idea what. I inked it with a freshly re-inked Ranger Archival Jet Black pad and then heat embossed with old clear EP 
• Black Soot DI added to edges and spritzed for some water drops
• Tim's Cargo stencil used to add letters with Antique Linen DOx
• Tim's wildflower (cut and inked a few moons ago) added
• A feather glued by wildflower
• Shred of Tim's fabric from a scrap jar tied around tag
• Corners of tag snipped with a Fiskars punch
• Tim's Chitchat stickers added and accented with Frayed Burlap Distress Crayon

I think that's it!  This reminds me of when Tim used to have his monthly challenges... That was so fun.  Miss them.

• Tim Holtz Ledger Script stamp added to parts of card with Vintage Photo archival ink
• Vintage Photo Distress Crayon drawn and blended at edges

Index Card A Day, Day 35

I've been participating in this year's Index Card A Day Challenge by Daisy Yellow.

Here is the library catalog card for Day 35:

This was made on a library card using Jane Davenport watercolors, a Jane Davenport brush pen, a Tim Holtz paper doll, and a quote from an old unknown book.

I am sharing this with the current Inkspirational challenge because I believe the sun idea was in my mind when I created the card.

If you've never heard of the Index Card A Day Challenge, I strongly suggest you go check it out.  It's been terrific this summer because I've been so busy that it keeps me creative, even on a small scale.

TIOT Guestie!

So honored to have been asked to be a guest designer at Try It On Tuesday... they seemed to like THIS project from back in March, so I've been invited to join in their current For The Boys challenge!

Here is my project:

Supplies:

• I made the box from an old library catalog card
• The cardboard was taken from my recycling bin and I ripped it and gave it a light coat of Teresa Collins modeling paste and adhered it to the inside of the box
• The main image was from a page of Tim Holtz designer paper, cut and coated with Distress Collage Medium in Crazing.  When dry and crackled, I gently scribbled various Distress Crayons over the cracks to emphasize them.
• The rope-looking twine was from my jar of fiber scraps
• The little words are from Tim Holtz Chit Chat stickers
• The awesome striped ribbon in the background was also from my scrap fiber jar
• I added two little Recollections brads to the ribbon

As I was making this, I got the Patty Loveless song "Here I Am" stuck in my head.

This little "flag" was made with a leftover piece from THIS card.

• Floral watercolor resist paper by Recollections inked with powdered pigments by Lindy's Stamp Gang in Luminous Lemon and Color Bursts in Pthalo Green
• Generic gold washi tape
• Quotations stamp 
• Base is a library card inked with Fossilized Amber and sprayed for a little oxidation.
• The twine at the top is from my stash
• Tim's photobooth friend popped up on some 3M dimensional adhesive

Mad with the insanity of books

This is fun, though it really needs the right recipient:

• This is a catalog card coated with Finnabair's crackle paste through Tiim's Typo stencil
• The card was then coated with Distress Stain in Aged Mahogany
• DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Gold Rush rubbed over parts of the card
• Black Liquitex gesso dragged along the edges
• Gold thread from stash added behind Tim's photobooth friend, who was treated with a avriety of aging techniques
• The quote was cut from an old book and adhered with Distress Collage Medium in Matte.

• Quote written (multiple times) with the tail-end of my Signo
• Edges of the tag rubbed with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Gold Rush

This turned out so cute, I think:

• Lacy washi from the Tokyo store.  My best friend got this for me a few years ago at Christmas.

... and I don't even know who that is.  But I just looked her up, and had an interesting life.

That clipping attached here was such a strange and interesting documentation of a party I just clipped it and kept it.

Supplies:

• Library catalog card base coated a long time ago with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals mixed with Teresa Collins modeling past through Tim's Roses stencil
• The card was then sprayed with Dylusions in Vibrant Turquoise and some water with Perfect Pearls in Heirloom Gold mixed  in
• The image is one of Tim's photobooth friends, and she's been coated with a thin coat of DecoArt paint in Rich Espresso
• The wood rose is from Michael's
• The clipping was from The New York Review of Books and I coated it with the thinnest possible layer of Distress Collage Medium in Vintage, with just a touch of Crazing.  Then I simple stapled it on!

• "Golden" panel from a 6x6" paper pad atop a "nest" of seafoam green thread

Dreaming of great big things

Here's an artsy tag:

Supplies:

• Library catalog card base pasted over a long time ago with Ranger's transparent glossy modeling paste through a stencil made using Tim's Mixed-Media die set #1
• Recently, I coated the tag with Peacock Feathers DOx and scribbled one end with Mustard Seed Distress Crayon  which- duh- made the green color.
• A day later, I had both black and white Liquitex gesso out for another project and used the excess on this, applying it with both my fingers and an old key-card.  You can see where I did some scraping also while I was on the phone just mindlessly messing around.
• A few days ago I finished this up.  First, I added Glossy Accents around the edges and added Recollections micro-beads in Ebony... it looks like tint caviar!  This is my new fave supply.  Better than glitter.
• The puffy heart stickers were found at Tuesday Morning the same day I found the micro-beads.  They are by Bella Blvd.
•  The quote is from my snippet tin and it was adhered with white Liquitex gesso.
• The last thing I did was add the inked seam binding that came with my last purchase from The Funkie Junkie Boutique.
