Happy Anniversary (11th!)

Today, the ball n' chain and I celebrate 11 years of wedded bliss!

• Sentiment written with a Copic Gasenfude

Nautical anniversary

... with reference to tying the knot:

I was trying to show the glittery Bridal Tinsel in this image... didn't really succeed.  FYI, it's that iridescent sparkle that yields pinks, greens, blues.

Supplies:

• Strathmore watercolor paper written on with a Letter It marker then heat embossed with Bridal Tinsel EP from the Letter It pack
• Dipped in an inked-up mat with all the blue DOx plus lots of water
• The knot stamp was from a nautical-themed set from Michael's my BFF used for her wedding in 2016-- Uh-oh, I guess I need to send it to her! I heat embossed it with Gold Tinsel from the Letter It pack.
• I also heat embossed the edge with the Gold Tinsel EP.

That's it.  Pretty cute, right?

I just want to add a few notes about the Letter It products I own: While the pens work super-well for heat embossing and for use with Perfect Pearls, I think I prefer my Zig Emboss Writer for heat embossing because it goes on blue so you can see what you've written/drawn. The embossing powder colors I bought are the Copper, Bridal, Gold, and Silver Tinsels and they are BEAUTIFUL.  Totally worth the money just to get this beautiful little set.  In case it matters you to, though, they do end up  rough after heating due to the glitter, and the Bridal Tinsel is more iridescent than just white. Use the Michael's coupon-- I felt like full price was steep.

Happy Anniversary

This was made for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary:

They have been together longer than that,  but tied the knot in 1987. They are truly best friends and can't be apart.  It's awesome.

• Stickles in Ice (this is like a chunky Mercury Glass... therefore it is my second fave)

Three Anniversary cards

Bought myself some paper the other day... wasn't my fault!  I didn't mean to!  It drew me in... last thing I remember is it was in my cart and I was trying to feel unashamed!

But I gotta say, I have no regrets... although it was a $12 Heidi Swapp pad (after discount), it is a wonderful collection-- some pages are reminiscent of Basic Gray pads of yore... some of my fave papers ever.

Happy Anniversary

I have a few partially-made anniversary cards... here's one I completed in a single session!!!

My crafting time has been so limited... more than ever. Usually I am pretty good about finishing a project over multiple sessions, but lately I need to dive in and complete something in one session because I either need a card,  or I realize I won't be able to see a project through.  It's a sad craft-addict problem I'm having.

This is the card I made this morning:

Supplies:

• Cheap, thin watercolor paper 
• Background punched with Tim's dies then smooshed in Peeled Paint Distress Stain misted with high quality H2O
• Roses painted with Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick + Dried Marigold, and Scattered Straw DI and a Kuretake water brush.  The colors were really subdued, so I added some Aged Mahogany and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain.  
• After the flowers were painted,  I doodled their shape a little more with a Micron 005
• I popped the flowers up with some 3M foam tape
