Black-billed Magpie

My favorite kind of project... inky, birdie goodness:

Supplies:

  • Library card base inked with Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals through a Tim Holtz stencil
  • Magpie cut from a damaged field guide
  • African heishi beads (which are like tiny flat sequins), attached with Glossy Accents
  • Stampendous frantage in Aged Gold sprinkled over the top
  • My fave yarn added to the top

I'll share this with the folks at:

  1. Great collage effects - love the stencilling (I find it hard (impossible!) to stencil with anything watery) . I think the library card background looks wonderful and I love the bird. In fact, I think the whole project is amazing and I hope you don'tmind that I've pinned it for inspiration.

  2. MIMI! Birds and library cards! I feel like this is where it all began: my discovery of the ultra mega talented YOU! And wow- this piece is incredible! I love how all of your artwork is totally original. And your stencil work is rockin' my world. Love those colors and patterns you nailed in the background. It looks amazing against your bird. Keep those works of birdie-library geniusness coming because every one seriously blows my mind. And thanks for supporting the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog-- I know your work inspires a lot of people out there besides me!

  4. This is very Mimi style: library card, bird, yarn and just lots of inkiness! I love your style, it's so unique, far from my own and I find it really inspiring...
