Simon Says... Christmas gifts!

Oh, so happy to play with Simon Says on Monday this week!

I've made library tag notebooks before, but I decided to better my design and make a stack for holiday gifts.  Here is the stack I've done so far:

Supplies and notes:
  • These were made using old library catalog cards (which are approximately 3"x5")
  • For the covers, I just looked through my stash of cards from the year and selected a few...
  • The interior cards were cut using the perforating blade at one inch (25 cards per notebook)
  • They were then all punched at ~1" and 2" for binding
  • I used various twines to do a quick-bind... and even made a few tassels!
Yay!  Booyah!  Gifts!

Now my husband (bless him) wants one for the woods for his vest pocket! :) For him, I'll make  a more durable cover and bind it from the top with more of a blanket stitch.

  1. These are brilliant little gifts, Mimi. The covers are beautiful, I've noticed how fond of birds you are and you've got so many lovely motifs to choose from. Each of these designs are unique.

  2. Oh my goodness! What geniusness has struck you again! I am in loooooove with these! And how cool to see such different variations! Each one is unique and original yet I like how they tie in with the avian theme. And I say there's no greater crafty compliment than you can receive than a husband wanting one of your projects! Thanks for sharing your skills for our Simon Says Stamp challenges. I always look forward to your entries and to see what you've been up to!

  3. Oh every one is AMAZING! Your card designs are so inspiring. Love the idea of a bundle. Hope your Christmas is a lot more Christmassy than mine has been so far! We've been so sick and just down right struggling, but hopefully as of today we are over that! Big Christmas hugs, Autumn

    1. Oh my gosh! Look at you go with your SSS spotlight! I hear disco music! I'm definitely doing the happy dance for ya babe. Christmas hugs, Autumn

  4. Wow, these are fantastic! I love them all. The covers are wonderful and all so different. And I love that you have made them with real old library cards, and that they are so chunky. Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog!!

  5. Wow, Mimi! These ARE really amazing! I'm so happy to see your name in the spotlight at Simon Says Stamps! How deserving you are of this honor! Merry Christmas and big hugs!
