Happy Anniversary

I have a few partially-made anniversary cards... here's one I completed in a single session!!!

My crafting time has been so limited... more than ever. Usually I am pretty good about finishing a project over multiple sessions, but lately I need to dive in and complete something in one session because I either need a card,  or I realize I won't be able to see a project through.  It's a sad craft-addict problem I'm having.

This is the card I made this morning:

  • Cheap, thin watercolor paper
  • Background punched with Tim's dies then smooshed in Peeled Paint Distress Stain misted with high quality H2O
  • Roses painted with Aged Mahogany, Worn Lipstick + Dried Marigold, and Scattered Straw DI and a Kuretake water brush.  The colors were really subdued, so I added some Aged Mahogany and Spiced Marmalade Distress Stain.
  • After the flowers were painted,  I doodled their shape a little more with a Micron 005
  • I popped the flowers up with some 3M foam tape
I'll share this with the folks at Cupcake Inspiration, and also with the folks at CAS Watercolor... here are their graphics:

  1. Very pretty die cut roses and background. TFS and joining us at CAS Watercolour. Hugs..

  2. Such pretty roses, Mimi! Love that smooshed and die cut background! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

  3. Great design Mimi!! The sentiment aperture looks awesome with the smooshed green paint (must be the high qulality H2O you used!). :) Roses are really beautiful. Adding the doodling really makes them special. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Watercolour!

  4. Oh I love those beautiful soft flowers, they are perfect for the challenge - they look like the cupcakes! so pretty!

  5. Beautiful flowers - love the way you added the Distress stains to get more intense colour on top of the watercolouring. That TH sentiment die looks fabulous with it. Thanks for joining us at CAS Watercolour!

  6. So pretty!! Love the coloring on your flowers. The background is just perfect. Love the die cut sentiment along with the green.

  7. Super cute!!! Thank you for joining us at Cupcake Inspirations, good luck!!! Amy DT
