Striped tree birthday card

Is this what you expected from that weird post title? I wish I had a better titling system.  How do you name your posts?

Supplies:

  • The circle was a by-product of THIS card
  • Stripes made using Distress Stain embossed with clear EP
  • Tree is a Tim Holtz die, pre-cut from a scrap of kraft and sitting in my stash
  • I added pewter, brown, and light green EP to the tree randonly
  • I wrote the sentiment using Distress Crayon in Black Soot with water and a small paintbrush.

I will share this with the following folks:

  1. I love that you've got two great cards out of the stripe-painted paper. This is stylish! Sometimes I think of what I believe (perhaps wrongly) is a witty or punny title - then the rest of the time it's dull titles like 'orange balloons'!

  2. What a great interpretation of our challenge; it's maybe not exactly what we were looking for but love that you've managed to create 2 cards out of the one striped panel. The idea was to use something on your card that you haven't used in a long time - maybe it's no longer fashionable in papercraft or it's a stamp that hasn't been used in a while. Thanks so much for joining us this week at Less is More

  3. Fabulous reuse of a cut of a previous card. Me too, I keep all the "small pieces" of die cutting, you never know, it can always be used, even if it was not really what we were expecting for "something back" in this challenge. Gorgeous handwritten sentiment ! Thanks for sharing and for playing along at Less is More.

  6. It's always good when you can use leftovers and the striped circle works great with the tree, Mimi. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls. I usually title my posts with the challenges I've entered.
