All the love that I found

Made this for my friend who recently got engaged!

Darn the pix!  I took them early in the morning before I gave it away, and I didn;t realize the colors were so muted!  The background is actually a nice pink with hearts.

Supplies:

  • American Crafts glitter paper cut for the base mat and also used for the Graphic 45 die of the the ring
  • Jewels from my sister a few years ago
  • Pink background with hearts from a Heidi Swapp pad... does not show up well here, but it's so lovely
  • Script written with a cheap paintbrush wit my new fave method: scribbled Black Soot Distress crayon on my mat sprayed with water.  It's an old Sublime lyric, and I love it.

Is like to share this at the following challenges:

Tropical quilt

"Tropical quilt" seems like an appropriate name for this:

Supplies:
  • Patterned  paper entirely from a DCWV pad called "Watercolor"
  • Yellow background paper by DCWV
  • Black cardstock by Recollections
  • Gold letters are Thickers
I made this initially for the school stash, but my teen daughter swooped in and nabbed this for a friend's 17th birthday.  She gave it to her today and she apparently loved it and posted it on her little social media story :)

I'll share this with the following challenges:

Merry LITTLE Christmas!

Made these to participate with Jingle Belles this week, and to bolster my card collection:

Supplies:
  • Hexagon-embossed cards from the dollar section of Michael's
  • Christmas paper scraps punched with a small Fiskars hexagon punch
  • 3M adhesive tape used to pop up shapes
  • Viva Paper Pearls in red
  • Tim's Christmas Quotations
Ummm... that's pretty much it...

I definitely had great craft therapy time piecing these together!

Only less than 10 months to make holiday cards!!!

Get well... have some tea...

Finished up this doodle and made it into a card!

Supplies:

  • The doodle was drawn on Canson Mix Media paper with a Micron pen
  • I masked around the cup and used a Prima flower stencil with DI in Stormy Sky for the cup, then blended Stormy Sky around the edges of that panel
  • The tea is Tea Dye DI
  • That whole drawing popped up with 3M dimensional adhesive
  • The embossed background panel is an old index card, aged to brown perfection and dry embossed with an Anna Griffin embossing folder
That's it!

I'll share this at the following challenges:

SOS: Stencils!

This week at Shopping Our Stash, I am your hostess and I chose the challenge STASHED STENCILS!  Yay!  I love stencils!  Join the fun!

Here is what I made to share:

Supplies:

  • Tim's Dot Fade stencil: I believe this is the oldest stencil of Tim's that I own whcih is why I chose to use it for this challenge.
  • Dylusions sprays in Lemon Zest and Pure Sunshine
  • Paper Trey Inc. bird and tree stamp set.  As you guys know, I am not as big a stamper as some, but when I saw this set, I went on a waiting list for it!  I have to admit, though, I've used it less than three times... so it was high-time I got it out!  I used all Ranger archival inks from mixed media palettes.
  • Tim's Metallic Quotations as sentiment
  • Lovely fiber sent from Andrea tied to the card for a little something extra.  It was the last snippet of this piece, and it just barely was able to fit!
  • Added a tiny drop of Viva Paper Pearls in Anthracite for the chickadee's eye...
That's it!

Please bust out your stencils and join us at Shopping Our Stash!

ATC for my sick kid

Made this for my little... she was sick AGAIN this weekend...

Supplies:

  • The heart was punched (with a Fiskars punch) from a play-date with alcohol inks weeks ago
  • The quotes were in my quote box from multiple books
  • The edges were inked with Tim's Distress Paint in Mowed Lawn
I'll share this with this month's Happy Little Stampers ATC challenge:

Peach flowers Birthday Card

Here's another card for the school staff stash:

Supplies:

  • The main panel is Strathmore watercolor paper with the edges distressed using a Making Memories distresser.
  • Stampendous flower stamp inked with Distress Embossing Ink and heat-embossed with Recollections EP in black
  • Flowers colored in with DOx in Abandoned Coral and Wild Honey, plus Cracked Pistachio for the photosynthetic portions (LOL...)
  • "Happy Birthday"written with a cheap paintbrush dipped in some Distress Crayon in Black Soot watered down on the craft mat
  • The last bit of my Perfect Pearls white spray (from years ago) squirted over the card.  (I tried to show this in the second picture).
  • The last bit of fine black hemp cord tied around the bottom.
  • Panel placed atop a torn sheet of K & Company DP, reverse side.
That's it!  Pretty good for a generic feminine birthday card to have on hand, and it was simple to make.  I bet it would look nice in yellow tones.

I'd like to share this with the folks at Fashionable Stamping: One for the girls.

CAS Balloon Birthdays

Made these last weekend after my youngest requested birthday cards with balloons.  I know these ideas are nothing new, but I sure like the look of these:

This is a little off-center, but I like it.  Adds a whimsical look.

Supplies:
  • Just inked DOx in Wilted Violet and Seedless Preserves on my mat and painted the balloons with a paintbruush
  • String is a Faber Castell Pitt

I'd like to share these with CAS on Friday: One Layer Wonder

Trendy girly birthday

Made this last weekend and I am just getting around to posting it...

Supplies:

  • Stitched circle dies from Autumn used to cut scraps of DCWV paper from a pad
  • "Happy Birthday"strip cut from a scrap of DP from long ago
  • Worn Lipstick DI inked on mat and sprayed with water for watercolor splotch
  • Sequins from my stash
That's all!

I'll share this at the following challenges:

Layered roses

Hmmm... On the fence about this.

I am still busting out pretty generic birthday cards for the people at work.  This was one of those cards that I could not make any decisions about-- couldn't decide if I wanted it on a kraft card base or white... couldn't decide if I wanted the sentiment in white or brown... I still think this card could have been done multiple ways.  When I am next lacking mojo but have time, it would be fun to revisit, because I actually love the roses and the colors and all of the individual elements-- just not sure I like the way they ended up here.

Supplies and notes:

  • Background panel is a Seth Apter stamp inked with Distress Embossing Ink and embossed with Ranger in Antique Turquoise EP on kraft paper
  • Layering stamps by Hampton Arts.  Roses inked with Dina Wakley Ruby Mixed Media palette, Barn Door DI, and Antique Linen DOx.  Leaves inked using ColorBox Glacier Lake, Peacock Feathers DI, and Antique Linen DOx.
  • "Happy Birtgday" written with a Zig Emboss-Writer on a scrap of vellum and heat embossed with Ranger EP in Potting Soil.
  • Main panel matted on a piece of brown Recollections cardstock.
I'll share this at JUGs, whose current competition inspired this card:

SOS: Home Sweet Home

Here we are, past the middle of February, and on to the latest challenge at Shopping Our Stash: Home Sweet Home!  The Fabulous Chris is our hostess this week, and she is encouraging us to create a project featuring a home... but I'm thinking any dwelling or building will do!  Heck, maybe even a camp trailer!

Here's my creation:

Supplies:
  • I made my panel to fit Tim's Idea-ology Flip Frame.  This is un-altered as of yet.  My original plan was to make something for my mom to set on her kitchen table, but I have not done that yet-- maybe I'll get another Flip-Frame for Mother's Day and see that through.
  • My main panel is a piece of a hoarded framing mat board inked in four DOx blues: Faded Jeans, Salty Ocean, Broken China, and Chipped Sapphire
  • Edges of the mat dabbed with Distress Paint in Chipped Sapphire, Mowed Lawn, and Spiced Marmalade for fun.
  • The house is a stamp by Hampton Art/Graphic 45 that I've owned for a couple years.  I love the set, but seldom use it.  It was stamped with Ranger Archival in Jet Black on a scrap of Strathmore watercolor paper twice the cut and layered with 3M dimensional adhesive.  Prior to layering it, it was inked with DI in Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers and spritzed with water.
  • Greenery cut from Tim's mini-greenery dies previously (I had a die-cutting extravaganza on my living room floor last weekend when my youngest had the flu.  I didn't want to leave her in the house alone, so I brought in the Big Shot and all of my dies [I don't own more than 15 sets anyway...] and cut-cut-cut with all my scraps!)  Anyway, the greenery is supposed to represent the pine trees around my house.
  • Tim's paper dolls from the first set added to represent my family: two girls, my hubs and I, and the dog
  • More stamping from the Hampton Art/Graphic 45 set stamped in the background.   I don't think these have ever been used.
  • Tim's Small Talk stickers
  • The Bingo piece is from my stash, chosen to represent the 11 years we've been in this house.
That's all.  I hope you will join us at Shopping Our Stash and show us your home stash!

Mythical angel notebook

Isn't that what these are-- mythical mer-angels? Well, anyway, enjoy...

I did none of the writing on this card... it's so special that it had many librarians marks on it.

Ooh... sparkly...

See the perforated pages?  A total pain to do, but 100% worth it.  I think this notebook has 25 sheets.

Supplies:

  • Cover and pages all old library catalog cards (what else?)
  • Cover stamped with this cool Invoke Arts stamp in Ranger Archival in Jet Black (what else?)
  • Crown accented with Stickles in Mercury Glass (what else?)
  • The cover panel was then sprayed with some Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in a peachy-gold
  • I've also added some Shabby Shutters DI and spritzed with a little water
  • My all-time favorite yarn used to bind the book together through holes punched with a Crop-o-dile Big Bite
So many of my favorite bits came together for this little notebook.  There's just something about it... I'll have to find a special home for it.

I will share this with Mini Album Makers... the DT members over there could do this project in their sleep!  HA!  But I hope everyone enjoys it nonetheless!

I will also share this at Simon Says Stamp on Monday (who has another powerhouse DT), and they are conveniently having a Take Note (notebook) challenge this week

XO, y'all.

Cactus card for a teen

Made this a few weeks ago at my daughter's request... and I did it within like 10 minutes late at night!  Just found these pix as I was going through my phone...

Supplies:

  • To be fair with my "10-minute" estimate, I had painted the sentiment on an earlier occasion (Finetec Pearlcolors gold palette)
  • The diecut circle in the background is DCWV resist paper inked with Color Bursts
  • Cacti die cut with my Cricut Explore Air 2 from two-sided DCWV cardstock
  • Gold thread from my stash
That's it!  I'd like to share this with CAS on Friday for their Dies challenge.  I don't think I have ever shared there before!  I just found them recently.

We made it

Isn't this sweet?

Supplies:

  • Library card base made months ago with a batch of Teresa Collins modeling paste mixed with some Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals in Dark Chocolate Truffle  through Tim Holtz's Roses stencil
  • Antique Linen DI daubed over card and spritzed just the slightest bit with water
  • Old typewriter paper dipped in some watered-down Antique Linen DI
  • Andrea's/ Snapping Monsters stitch stamp off to the side of the couple inked with Ground Espresso from Tim's MM pallete
  • Couple from Tim's photobooth pix, cut out and distressed with my fave edge distresser by Making Memories (Note: the only thing I've ever been disappointed with that Tim put out was the Tonic distresser... )
  • Snippet from my book-snippets tin
I love the way this turned out, and I'll proudly share it at the following challenges:

SOS: You stamped with WHAT???

This week at Shopping Our Stash, our hostess Donna would like us to stamp with something other than a stamp!  You can use traditional stamps as well, but let's see what you can do with a non-stamp as a stamp!

Here is my little collection:

This is a picture of what I used:

I participated back in April of 2016 the last time SOS encouraged us to stamp with something other than a stamp... HERE is my post.

Supplies:
  • Library card bases
  • I used a piece of foam packaging (I seem to always hoard these little bits) and dipped it into Peeled Paint and Broken China Distress Paint (both bottles are over two years old).
  • The women were all cut from a crocheting magazine from 1965 and pasted on with matte Mod Podge.  A coworker's grandmother recently passed away, and my coworker brought boxes of crocheting and knitting books, magazines, and catalogs into the staff room for people to take.  Well, I was polite and stayed out of the boxes for a long time in order to make sure any legitimate crocheters could get to it... but after a couple months, many old magazines were left... and I swooped upon them!  I do want to learn how to crochet better in the future, but in the meantime, I will use some of these awesome images!
  • I used my sewing machine to stitch the edges.
  • Tim Holtz's Plus stencil used with Teresa Collins modeling paste.
  • All three cards were edged with DI in Pumice Stone.
  • Sentiments from my little box of clippings from old books
That's it!  Please join us with a project of your choice (ATCs, tags, cards, scrapbook pages, etc....) using your stashed items and stamp with a non-stamp!  See you at SOS
