SOS: Headed to the beach!

This week at Shopping Our Stash, I am your hostess and I chose the challenge theme:
Headed to the beach!

I want to see projects of any kind with a salty-ocean flavor!

Here's my stashy card:

Supplies:
  • Focal picture and fab background paper is by Kaisercraft.  I bought it about 6 months ago but have passed it up numerous times... in my hoarding nature... so I definitely decided it was time to use it with the project.
  • Focal picture coated with Finnabair crackle paste (still not my fave-- I am just trying to use it up so I can buy the Liquitex brand) and then some Pebeo natural sand paste (over 1.5 years old and the container is still full) and added some Mod Podge Dimensional Magic-- I keep saying this is the end of my Dimensional Magic (2010), but it just keeps going.  I think it's time to trash it-- see how funny the "water drops" are?
  • Edges of all Kaisercraft paper inked with Antique Linen DI
  • "Miss you" painted with Finetec gold palette
  • Ancient encylopedia pages in the background
  • Pre-cut gold seaweed (shhh: it's really Tim's Mini Greenery dies but they double well as seaweed).  This is cut from Core'dinations metallic kraft-core.
  • Shells left over from my best friend's wedding... 1.5 years ago, purchased by my sister for bachelorette festivities closer to 2 years ago...
  • Ranger Glossy Accents added to shells as water droplets
  • DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Gold Rush added to edges of background Kaisercraft DP.
I plan to send this to my beach-lovin' daughter while she is at summer camp (yes-- it's that time of year-- every spring I start loading my card stash with cards for my kids while they are away at camp!  And I'm definitely not a mom who just likes to get rid of her kids [well, most of the time...] I was a camper and then camp counselor when I was young at this camp, and I still have strong ties to it, so since my kids love it, too, I want them to be able to go! Bonus: they have to sing and act out silly rhymes for their mail, so it's a win-win!  Ha!)

See you over at SOS, my friends!

I'd like to also share this with Try It On Tuesday for their current Recycle Something challenge-- the encyclopedia pages are my recycled item.
