My 13 year-old doodled the Zentangle for me upon request, and now I'll give her the card to give a friend! Win-win!
In case you didn't already guess, this was made for the current Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge:
Supplies:
- My big girl used a Faber-Castell Pitt to doodle on a panel of watercolor paper. She spent hours on this! She loves to draw, and she's getting really good at it, but her fave thing seems to be mandalas... I'm always sharing Lauren's with her.
- I daubed the finished panel with Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, and Peacock Feathers DI
- The sentiment was stamped using a small uppercase old Target alphabet and the larger but lowercase Amy Tangerine stamps (... anybody else see the irony here?) inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black
- I made a smudge with the stamps so I added a bit of splatter using Black Soot Distress Spray Stain
Cheers!
holy moly she is GOOOOOOOD!!! i love everything about this, ESPECIALLY the zentangle with mandalas, of course!!! but also: the way you've added the ink, made it into a card, the PERFECT sentiment stamped in perfectly counter-intuitively-sized alphas... <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
ReplyDelete(& of course the fact that it's proof the VULCAN MIND MELD is real & has practical craft-world applications, lol!!!) :)
ps to the elder daughter: the f-c pitt pens are my ALL TIME fave, the XS nib (.1mm) is my 1st choice but S (.3) is also great. i like the 1.5mm as well, beware that in the old labelling system B was for brush not bold, look for black 1,5 (for some reason they use the comma instead of a period, lol)btw, for some reason the 1.5 is much less smudge resistant than the other pens, so i use it LAST, OVER any marker or paint i want to add.
ReplyDeletepss: my second favorite thing to draw, after mandalas, is now officially FRUIT. b/c it's a REAL thing (satisfying to make recognizable!) and yet it lends itself really well to creative interpretation... :)
WOW!!!! Your daughter did an amazing job with her zentangle!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the resulting card is awesome!!!
Thanks for getting your zentangle on with the sisterhood of snarky stampers!!
It seems you've got a future artist and card maker there at home. Very impressed by your daughter's zentangle work. Hope she enjoyed it so she can make you more. If not, remember to scan or photocopy before use:)
