SOS: Buttons!

This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are encouraging you to use your button stash!  Buttons have been part of my craft stash since I was in junior high school... I have always loved sifting through them!

Here's a card:

Supplies:
  • The button card itself actually came from DP from years ago... not sure who made it...
  • The buttons are probably from my original stash!  I sewed them on and washi-taped the back.
  • Blue paper from my scrap stash
  • The patterned paper has been in the stash for years.  I added a stitch stamp that I hadn't yet inked (from Tim's patchwork set), inked with Distress Oxide Ink in Faded Jeans
  • The vintage chicks are by Flonz Craft... I went to include a link, and discovered just now that they had a challenge blog!  Cool! It appears inactive... Anywho, I inked them also in Distress Oxide on the back of a library card.
Thanks for visiting, and please join us at SOS this week.  Is your button stash older than my own personal stash... about 23 years?

  4. Oh Boy!! I envy your button collection, like I said in my own post, I have NO buttons in my house, well.....except for those that come with blouses and shirts and a few on my notions little box.
I love the total vintage look of your card, the look of this buttons in their original package reminds me of my sweet maternal grandma's sewing room, I can recall the look of that room and how the stuff in her sewing machine's drawers smelled like.
Thank you for the wonderful memories your beautiful and creative card brought to me.
    Hugs,
    Maria.

  5. I think this design is perfect for buttons, they're the design and not just there for the sake of being used. And then the ladies stamp and button card holder, how perfect!
