Ocean girl birthday

Made this for my friend Cheyne's birthday.  I knew just what I'd use:

Supplies:

  • The focal image is a Jane Davenport stamp inked with Midnight from Ranger's Dina Wakley palette
  • The image was colored using a waterbrush and DIs as pictured above
  • Stickles added
  • Liquid Pearls added
  • Background inked using DOx as pictured above
  • The "seaweed" is from Tim Holtz's Mini Greenery dies

I'll share this with the following challenges:

Using Tim Holtz's Sentiment Words

I made these cool background/panels with homemade stamps, and decided to try Tim's sentiments with them... I'd say they were a success!  I personally love the graphic look of these, and the boldness and color IRL are just so aesthetically pleasing to look at.

Supplies:
  • All colored CS are from a bulk package from Tuesday Morning.  It was fun to buy a mixed pack and pick through the random colors of cardstock.
  • Hand-carved stamp inked with Ranger Archival in Black Soot from the Tim Holtz palette
  • Finetec details in Gold Pearl
  • White details are Liquitex Gesso
  • Diecut sentiments are by Tim Holtz (Sizzix)
I'll share these at the following challenges:

Super Star

I really love the way this quick card turned out:

Supplies:

  • The focal panel was stamped onto a pre-gel-printed scrap using a hand-carved stamp in Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black
  • Focal panel popped up with 3M dimensional adhesive
  • Sentiment written with a Copic Gasenfude
  • Stickles in Silver added as accent
I'll share this at Freshly Made Sketches.  The current sketch inspired this card:

Happy B(eard) Day

Made this for a friend's son, but it could go to a man of any age, I think!

On the inside of the card, I wrote Happy Beard Day!  Haha!  I made the card in a pinch and am pretty happy with it.  If  I could change anything, though, I'd take more time on the sentiment/banner.  It could have been done more carefully...

Supplies:

  • Log and beard stamp/die set by Richard Garay for Fun Stanpers Journey inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black and heat embossed with black Recollections EP on appropriate-colored cardstock
  • Treeline die by Tim Holtz/Sizzix (It's crooked in the picture-- but  I saw that it slipped and fixed it!)
  • The background was stamped using a Heidi Swapp woodgrain stamp in Frayed Burlap DOx on some generic beige cardstock
  • I wrote the sentiment with a Zig Emboss Writer and heat embossed with black Recollections EP
  • Viva Paper Pearls in Anthracite at the top

Shaving cream technique + resist

This card was quickly made using a panel created the first time I tried the shaving cream technique back in spring:

Supplies:

  • The resist watercolor paper was by Heidi Swapp
  • For the shaving cream technique, I used Dylusions After Midnight spray
  • The plant stamp is by The Stamp Pad, probably over 15 years old
  • The sentiment is Tim Holtz, of course.
That's about it!
