Royal Tin

I made this over the course of two days, just kind of tinkering around-- no real plan for the outcome:

Supplies and notes:

• Tin from the Asian market
• Tin inked with AI in Ginger and Mushroom
• Edges of tin painted with DecoArt Metallic in Rich Espresso; side edges were glitzed up a bit with Stickles in Mercury Glass
• Library card cut to fit the base on both sides
• Library card on inside of the tin coated with Distress Collage Medium- Crazing, then scribbled with Antiqued Bronze Distress Crayon and Walnut Stain Distress Crayon
• Tim's fluted stars inverted and Tim's baubles placed inside, all adhered with E-6000 glue
• Crown from Michael's bins hung from some wire (that actually came off of some cute bell xmas trim...); diamond trim that came off of one of my daughter's headbands years ago glued on the crown with E-6000
• Prima rosary pearl trim added to top; I inked the silver chain part with Ginger AI-- the silver was too bright

12 Tags of Xmas, Tag #3

Now, this was a fun one, Linda!

Here's my tag for Tag #3 of The Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Xmas:

...inspired by her tag:

I loved everything about Linda's third tag... so purely Christmas with those candy stripes.  I saw this and planned to run with it... but then my card turned directions, as they often do.  Obviously I went with the candy-stripe red, used a tag and some baker's twine, and also some pearly baubles.   Otherwise, I opted for an aged paper versus the bright-white, and added some "greenery" just because it was right on my desk.

Supplies and notes on my take:

• Library card base daubed with Tim's Distress Embossing Ink through his Stripes stencil then heat-embossed with Stampendous EP in Red Tinsel
• "Love" tag made out of another library catalog card and stamped with Tim's Christmas alphabet; Tim's Chitchat stickers added along the side; popped up with 3M dimensional adhesive.
• Scrap baker's twine added to top and some Stickles Xmas Red added to bottom
• Green seaming binding trim from the latest goodie-bag from Linda's Funkie Junkie Boutique (thanks!) stitched on with the ol' machine; I added Tim's baubles, inked with Red Pepper Alcohol Ink and adhered with E-6000 glue
• Tim's paper dolls adhered with Elmer's Craft-Bond
• The whole tag was kind of inked with Gathered Twigs DI

World Traveler

Made this for my sis... hope she'll "make trade" someday!  She is currently in Spain, but already hit London, and will make it to France, I believe, before she comes back to The States.

Speaking of "world travelers," the trunk in the background was my MIL's uncle's-- it's got a few really cool old stickers from different cruise lines, etc.  Then, when my MIL went to college at Michigan, she used it.  It's really fabulous.  The trunk was my first scrapbooking storage and I still use it in the shack.  It has drawers, an I am currently using it for hot glue stuff, non-bulk ribbon, library cards, and full-size chipboard sets.

Supplies and notes:

• ATC cut from heavy packing kraft and coated with Teresa Collins modeling paste through a The Crafter's Workshop stencil by Rita Palazzari
• Dried with heat tool and added Distress Paint in Chipped Sapphire and Mowed Lawn
• Further color added with Distress Crayons in Peacock Feathers and Twisted Citron, then card wiped with a baby wipe to highlight texture
• Old compass sticker (almost a decade???) by K & Company (I think...) cut in half and affixed; compass arrow by Tim Holtz added with a brad from my stash
• Edge of ATC darkened with Distress Crayon in Walnut Stain
• Tim's Chitchat stickers affixed to an old corrugated cardboard coffee sleeve, snipped to size and affixed to ATC with E-6000 glue
• Old ticket stamp (no packaging-- I believe this was a dollar-bin find at Michael's) inked with Tim's MM Palette pad in Ground Espresso and stamped at the edge
• Watered-down Liquitex gesso splattered onto the card.  At first, I couldn't decide if I should use white or black splatter, but I decided on white to bring out the letters of the stickers.  I still think black would have looked good, but for some reason I did not think mixing would look good...

SOS: If the shoe fits...

Hi!  I'm the host over at Shopping Our Stash this week, and I chose the theme "If the shoe fits"-- I want to see projects inspired by shoes!

You can you a shoe stamp, shoe paper, our even just use a fave pair of shoes for color inspiration.

I've definitely been guilty of making shoe-contact before eye-contact...

Supplies:

• Designer Paper by Scribble Scrabble-- it is fabulous, and I only ever had two sheets.  I'm on my last half-sheet now!  
• Stitched circle die from Autumn, and I sketched the shoe from one of the shoes on the paper using a Micron pen, and wrote the sentiment with it.  The watercoloring was done using a Jane Davenport brush pen with Abandoned Coral DOx, and the glitter is Stickles in Mercury Glass (my fave)
• The hearts and corner accents were made using a Viva paper pen in Cream

From the heart... in fall...

I had just a scrap of Yupo left, and this is what I did with it:

Supplies and notes:

• Red Pepper, Sunset Orange, Sunshine Yellow Ranger alcohol inks, plus blending solution
• Oak leaf stamp from Good Stamp, inked with Archival in Jet Black
• Sentiment from Tim's Quotations sheets in Metallic
• Whole panel mounted on black cardstock, then adhered to an A2 card

I plan to share this at the Less Is More challenge... though not much open white space.  I'd initially intended to place this on an A7, but when I accidentally grabbed the A2, it just fit. 

12 Tags of Xmas, Tag #2

...and here's my Tag #2 for The Funkie Junkie's 12 Tags of Xmas inspiration challenge:

This is Linda's tag for inspiration:

You can see that I was inspired by Linda's palette, the stars, the pearls, the layout (well, in an abstract way...).  I have to say: my card looks relatively plain compared to hers, but IRL it has so much texture-- I'm good with it!  Mine does have a more simple and modern twist for such a distressed feel.  I think the font of those stickers adds to that theme.

Supplies and notes:

• Library card base coated loosely with Liquitex gesso, then dragged and dipped through some Vintage Photo DOx with water
• Altered Star stamp by Stamp/Dylusions inked with Versamark Dazzle Watermark pad in Champagne then embossed with Ranger EP in Princess Gold
• Ranger Liquid Pearls in White Opal added around, and irregularly around the circle die
• Circle die (from Autumn, thanks!!! Use these all the time!) stamped with one of Tim Holtz's birds and embossed the same as the stars. Circle then dipped in some Vintage Photo DOx
• Words are from Tim's Quotations sheets in Metallic. (I just grabbed these at JoAnn's after avoiding them for years [I usually type my own sentiments], and these were not that sticky! I added some Elmer's Craft Bond...)
• Seam binding from my stash, pinned with one of Tim's three-point pins
• Studio Calico veneer stars painted with Martha Stewart's liquid guilding in Gold
• Pearls from Michael's 
• Die cut star  arch from my friend Pos.  I added Princess Gold EP months ago... Out was just ready for this project!
