Tag card: You belong

Here is this tag card which was made with the intention of giving it to my oldest while she is away at camp--she loves Hawaii and all things associated with Hawaii... in this case,  plumerias:

Supplies:

• This tag-card was not pre-treated with anything
• Flowers by Inspired By Stamping (go to the site... I think this set is on major clearance) inked with Distress Embossing Ink and embossed with Custer's Last Stamp clear  EP 
• Color Bursts in Chartreuse,  Fuchsia,  and Orchid
• Once Color Bursts dried, flicked with water for the droplet dreamy look
• Twine by Hand Made Modern
• Quote from an old book affixed with Distress collage medium in matte

JUGS Birthday Card

Now that summer vacation is here,  I am on a big push to either use or purge these piled-up items, like backgrounds, diecuts, etc. I already thinned at least 40% of my paper stash and other miscellaneous items during a spring-cleaning in May...

The scrap shack is like 80% complete construction-wise, and we have done nothing since last fall.   In order to finish the insulating and sheet-rocking, I'll have to move my desk... yikes... so all this to say my plan is to just make cards like crazy instead of stashing or trashing unfinished projects!

• Stitched circle die from Autumn
• Metallic kraft-core punched with Tim's dies

Magical Birthdays

Busted these out this morning:

Supplies:

• Bought these adorable discounted unicorn stamps by Jolee's Boutique yesterday and instead of stashing them,  I decided to use them up!
• I had made the watery backgrounds last week with DIs on Tim's resist paper
• The sewing machine was out, so I decided to stitch some beams in the background
• Green paper is stock by Core'dinations
• I drew the banners and greetings with Paper Mate Flair pens... my faves 

Yay!  Aren't they fun?  I'm so pleased that I used this while sticker sheet!

Masculine Mixed Media

Made this just playing around over the past the days:

Supplies:

• Old index divider inked with DOx in Vintage Photo 
• Graphic 45 flower stamp inked wth DOx in Chipped Sapphire and Cracked Pistachio, then sprayed with water,  then stamped; then re-sprayed and stamped across background which yielded an almost imperceptible design. 
• Fiskars print stamp inked wth Ranger Archival 
• Text from an old reader adhered with Ranger Distress collage medium in Vintage
• Distress glitter in Antique Linen around the edges (using Elmers Craft Bond)
• Tim's found relative from a paper pad, edged with Frayed Burlap DI and dotted with Tim's Adirondack AI Mixative in Gold then popped up with dimensional adhesive
• A punched swallow (Fiskars) from Tim's metallic kraft-core 
• Buttons from stash
• Darice metallic hemp twine
• Idea-ology arrow rubbed with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Brilliant Turquoise
• Studs from my stash (I *think* these were made by Recollections...)

SOS: Happy Mail

Hi, crafters!

I am your hostess this week at SOS, and I have chosen the theme "Happy Mail"... think typewriters, stationary, envelopes, packaging... you know!

I am gearing up to inundate my daughters with mail at summer camp.  I was trying to find a joke funny enough to give one daughter the joke and one the response, but then I came up with the idea to give them each a part of a letter so they need to go find each other to read it!  See... I am working my parenting magic from afar... LOL!

Supplies:

• Recollections envelopes taped off with Frog tape
• Cards are sheets of Strathmore watercolor paper
• Dylusions sprays used.  One of my daughters is more "warm colors" and one is "cooler colors"...
• I used a Sharpie for some writing and doodling
• Stamps are from Bisous Zoo (from Autumn... thanks!) and some stamps (the postage stamp and the typewriter) came from a set years ago from a Somerset subscription *I think*... all inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black

This will be happy mail, don't you think?  I hope my plan works-- to get my girls to go find each other after mail-call!

Pet sympathy card

Some family friends had to say goodbye to their dog, so sad...

I had little time to make a card but knew I wanted to use the pine branch and paws... now, what to say?  So I went to Pinterest for a pet sympathy quote.  If you ever want to cry, go ahead and search that!  I finally realized that while some of the saying were moving me,  everybody grieves differently, so I went with this quote.  What do you think?

Supplies:

• Letterpress paper by Lifestyle Crafts.  Torn edge embossed with Princess Gold SO by Ranger.
• Pine bough stamp by Stampendous made in 2002... I've had our for at least 5 years,  I'd guess.  Inked with Forest Moss DI and sprayed with water for the watercolor effect.
• Paw prints also have been in my stash for years. Not sure of the make. Inked with Versamark in Champagne and embossed with Princess Gold.
• Sentiment written with a Zig Emboss-writer and embossed also with Princess Gold. 
• Green scrap of paper from a pad that's probably 5 years old.
