Wicked Wednesday

As I'm getting reacquainted with my craft supplies after a family vacation, funny how this ATC made itself...

Haha!  You feel me?  Entering this into Wicked Wednesday's "Head Shots" challenge.  Have to say, with a shooting family, I was picturing something more macabre when I read the challenge, haha!  Funny?  No?  No...

Supplies:

  • ATC is a cut-to-size library card
  • Background painted with Chipped Sapphire Distress Paint through a Heidi Swapp paper stencil
  • The lady is from the scraps leftover from when my friend Meg made me a xmas tree and a snowman and a pumpkin out of old handyman books... she did the cool fold-around DIYs for me to display in the library.  Anyway, since Meg is so cool, she brought me a grocery bag of the scraps to use.  I believe this lady was from a section talking about how to build your own darkroom with discussions about photography.  Doesn't this lady look a little nuts??? (Sorry... she was probably very nice... and I can tell from her face that she had kids...)
  • I added turquoise and purple twine at the last minute to the top... not photographed here
  • The sentiment was typed on the typewriter and edged with Black Soot Distress Ink, as well as the edges of the ATC itself

Tuesday Throwdown

Ooooh... how 'bout a little paper-piecing!

So, I was a HUGE paper doll lover as a girl... they just don't have them like they used to.  I feel like my dad used to get them from the grocery store (Albertson's) when I was growing up in Citrus Heights, CA!  I have bought books here and there for my girls, but they are not into them... (you know, I ought to cut them out and spark the interest!)  Anyway, dressing this up was SOOO fun for me.  I did another one, too...

I am submitting this cutie to Tuesday Throwdown's "Piece it together" Challenge.

Supplies:

  • My "Kelly Jo" stamp from Hero Arts was stamped on a library card, and also a piece of scrap... I think the dress is Basic Grey
  • Her background was daubed with Broken China and Gathered Twigs Distress Inks, then spritzed a bit with my mini-mister
  • Sentiment typed with my trusty old typewriter (I did a couple things with it while I had it out... be on the lookout for typed sentiments and quotes-- they're my fave)
  • I included pix to show how I used library cards to make the card... I just scored the back card and stuck them together

Girly-girl

I made this last Monday during my craft flurry:

This cutie will be entered into the current Curtain Call Challenge.

Supplies:

  • Studio 113 card base
  • Core'dinations cardstock in the background with a Martha Stewart heart stencil used with Picket Fence Distress Spray... which was difficult to photograph
  • Fine-tipped Sharpie for accenting
  • The image is from Chickaniddy paper... I don't know if I own any of their other stuff
  • Flowers from my stash with Wilton stamen., which I rubbed on an orange-shade Distress Ink pad
  • I drew the little scalloped bunting on a scrap of some of my fave American Crafts paper then just cut it out. This part looks very Snapping Monsters to me... just that part.  The rest on Andrea's stuff is 100x more unique than this :) But this is a cute birthday card and it will get used!

Wicked Wednesday: HEARTS

Awww, it's the time of the season for lovvvvinnnngggg...

Here's my ATC for Wicked Wednesday #193:

(The zoomed-out image is on the side of the craft-shack,,, it was too appropriate to not include the heart!  The siding of the shack is reclaimed siding from the old mill, and I kept the pulled nails and used them for little decorations :))

Supplies and notes:

  • Library card base, cut to ATC-size then made juicy over an afternoon or two of crafting
  • I frantaged the edge with Stampendous frantage in Shabby Blue
  • The gold spots are mainly Liquid Leaf in Classic Gold... I got a little "loose" with it and touched the cord (from my stash) also
  • The "love" stamp is one of Tim's... stamped in Color Box Coral
XOXO

SOS #235...

... has a good ring to it!

This is a little entry for this week's Shopping Our Stash challenge, 3-2-1: use three of somethin', two of somethin', and one of somethin'!

Supplies and notes:

  • This is a sister card to THIS ONE... I'm brand-spankin' to the die-cutting world, and I couldn't bear to toss the negative pieces!  So this card was created as a bi-product, and I couldn't be happier with the efficiency of this process!
  • Paper is DCWV cardstock and We R Memory Keepers gold-striped vellum
  • THREE sequins
  • TWO banners
  • ONE die-cut
Pia had noticed "1, 2, and 3" of something on the sister card, and I had already pegged this card for this challenge-- she is half-way around the world and she was on my wavelength!

I'm thinking I could use this as another baby card on my long list-- then I'd be done with five of seven!

Sunday Stamps

Here's an entry for Sunday Stamps Sketch #118 that I did yesterday morning:

Here's the sketch:

Supplies:

  • Card baserved from Autumn
  • Flower die-cut from a Simple Stories pack
  • I drew the white line with a Zig Emboss Writer and used Recollections embossing powder in Snow
Simple and cute, right?  I ought to make a few more...
