This is the most common roadside hawk in the Pacific Northwest:
Supplies:
- Color Bursts through a Heidi Swapp stencil on Strathmore watercolor paper. I added a few water droplets of my own with a waterbrush and LOVE this background... made it my phone's screensaver after a year of poppies! (I added a shot of this below... feel free to grab it!)
- Black paper mat by Colorbok
- The hawk is from an old children's guide

Simon Says Stamp on Monday... Your Fave Tool: Well, I really don't use fancy tools. I made a list because I was really wondering, "What's my favorite tool?" My list included a heat tool, scissors, Crop-o-dial (seldom use, but it's so valueable when needed), Cuttlebug (from Autumn), paper cutter, paintbrushes, stapler, typewriter, ruler. I ended up thinking about what I use most and what I could not craft without:
scissors. I read earlier in the week that
Marzena said the same thing. Now, don't compare my cutting to hers!

Fabulous card, Mimi! The watercolour background is so fun and colourful. Love it! Thanks for playing along at TGIF Challenges. Rochelle xo
ReplyDeleteThis is flippin' fantastic, Mimi! I am drooling (hopefully my hubs doesn't see me drooling as it is not particularly attractive) over this card! How could I not? This is gorgeousness and color blending at its finest. Love, love, love and want to stand up and cheer for your geniusness on this!
ReplyDeleteHave mercy, I can never get enough of your amazing stencil work! Love this hawk image paired with. This weekend on my road trip I saw a hawk swoop down and pick up his prey. I was completely in shock, awe, and disgust all at the same time! Lol! After the grossness wore off I was so thrilled about what I had seen, so neat!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful card! Your coloring is fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge. :)
ReplyDeleteEyecatching! I can see this also be a great screensaver for your phone. I've decided I want to be an organ donor if anything should happen to me, so that's info which is on my screensaver, but otherwise I wouldn't mind borrowing (stealing) your photo for this:)
ReplyDeleteOh! I absolutely love this stenciled watercolor background! Your colors meld perfectly! Thanks for joining in the fun over at TGIF this week! <3
ReplyDeleteWow, your background is totally amazing!!! The added water drops create such depth and coolness/awesomeness. I am glad you joined our inspiration challenge at TGIF. Smiles, Elizabeth
