SOS: Not your mom's card!

Happy Tuesday, and thanks for visiting for another Shopping Our Stash challenge!  I am the hostess over there this week, and I've selected the theme "Not your momma's card"-- I want to see something that wouldn't go to a proper lady!  (Actually, that might be your momma, but my momma loves off-color humor on a card!)

Here is my card this week:

Supplies and notes:

• Flo NZ Craft vintage lady stamps inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black then stamped on Strathmore watercolor paper
• Women's hair watercolored with my old college Loew-Cornell watercolors; skin colored with Spectrum Noir FS3; dresses inked with DOx in Cracked Pistachio and Twisted Citron
• Sweet sentiment written with a Jane Davenport brush pen dipped in some DOx: Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry.
• Panel mounted onto a Core'dinations cardstock

The stash-supplies I used on this card is mostly about a year old (not too old), but the stashy-part of this project is that the main panels were started in July and just sitting on my desk, shuffled from one part to the other... it is such a good feeling to, like, give something life!

SOS: Apple of my eye

Wow, another week gone by, and we are already past the middle of September!
This week, Chris is our hostess at Shopping Our Stash, and she chose the theme "Apple of my eye"-- use your apple stash!

Ahem... I, uh, view the world through a different lense sometimes... or maybe I just need new lenses... I added *pine* to the "apple" part of the challenge...

So... get out your apple stash of any sort!

I was thinking of the lobby of the Grand Wailea in Maui, which had a very cool, turn-of-the-century Hawaiian feel to it.

• Bingo card base stamped with one of my first-ever stamps: a white oak leaf by Inkadinkado inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black
• Next, the card base was "painted" with a swirly design using a waterbrush and Vintage Photo DOx.  I went over some of the swirls with Liquid Pearls in Rose Gold.
• Tim's mini blueprint leaves (multiple years old) stamped with Tim's MM Palette in Hickory Smoke on the back of old library catalog cards
• Stamped cards inked with DOx in Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, and Spiced Marmalade then fussy-cut
• The sentiment was typed on an old library card and inked with some remaining Vintage Photo DOx and coated with Distress Collage Medium in Crazing

• Edges rubbed with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Gold Rush
• Mary inked with Versamark Dazzle Watermark pad in Champagne then embossed with Ranger EP in Princess Gold
• Rose from Tim's Idea-ology set, painted with Martha Stewart's liquid gilding in Gold

SOSS Guestie! L is for Lost and Found

Hi!  Woohoo... I am a guestie again at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers... always happy to hang with those ladies... and Edna!

This fortnight, the challenge is...

Edna wants us to revisit lost techniques, products, styles, etc., and show the Sisterhood what we come up with!

I dug deep... I stay pretty well-rounded by being on the Shopping Our Stash design team-- I try to use what I have and push myself to try new things and incorporate older techniques... but this was a GREAT motivator.  I started paper crafting via scrapbooking even back in high school, over 20 years ago.  As a mom, I do a book per year for my girls... but I am now two years behind each... so that's FOUR BOOKS behind!  Ahhh!  It's enough to make me want to just quit my day-job!

Anyway, so I got super-motivated by this challenge and took over the living room: four mostly-empty scrapbooks and hundreds of pictures and memorabilia (report cards, certificates, travel stuff...) everwhere...

Here is one completed page (not so snarky, but it met the need of the challenge!):

Supplies:

• Striped paper by (damnit... can't remember... I'll add it later...)... CARTA BELLA PAPER COMPANY, 2013
• Black paper by American Crafts
• Blue paper by DCWV
• Red letters are Thickers
• Black dots by Viva Paper Pearls in Anthracite
• Pictures loosely lined with a DecoArt paint pen
• Pictures printed at Costco

That's it!  Go easy on me-- I haven't scrapbooked for like two years!  I'm already thinking of things I could add or things I could do differently, but I'm all about VOLUME right now!  Let's cover a couple years, huh?!

SOS: Emboss like a boss!

This is a project made for the current Shopping Our Stash challenge which is...

Emboss like a boss!  We'd like to see wet and dry embossing!

This was a great stash-shopping challenge for me-- I do not use my embossing folders nearly enough, though I always notice when other people use them!

Supplies:

• The card base was actually made a long time ago (two years?) and embossed with old embossing powders over an old Stampin' Up stamp from the Grunge pack (my first SU! stamp set).  I clipped the corners of this card with a regular hole-puncher.
• Scotch black glitter tape layered across card base
• The charcoal panel was embossed using a Darice embossing folder that Autumn sent me about two years ago... I think it was fall of 2015.   I added some gems to the corners of the embossed panel.
• The raven stamp is by Stampendous and was inked with Versamark in Champagne then heat-embossed with Recollections EP.  I popped that panel up using 3M foam tape.
• The funeral bunting was made using some old seam binding from a neighbor.  I just ran a stitch along the edge and pulled it.
• Vintage black seam binding

I guess the newest things on this card would be the black embossing powder and that Versamark ink, both purchased roughly 1.25 years ago.

Catacombs of Paris

HERE... have a refresher on the Catacombs of Paris!

Supplies and notes:

• Ranger tag base 
• Skull stamp from the dollar bins at Michaels inked with Versamark ink and heat-embossed with Recollection black EP
• Tag inked with Peeled Paint Distress Ink then dipped in a couple rounds of Iced Spruce DOx and then a few rounds of Black Soot DOx
• The sentiment banner was cut from a scrap of black cardstock and written on with a DecoArt paint pen.  The sentiment says, "Come her down with me" in French.  It's from a punk song from the 1990s.
• The seam binding is from my fave craft store, The Paradise Scrapbook Boutique.
• The edges of the tag were outlined with a black marker.

That's it! I made this in very little time.  

I'd like to share this with the folks at Tag Tuesday.  Their current challenge is Paris, and-- must be Halloween-time-- I instantly thought of the Catacombs.

• Acrylic block inked with Faded Jeans and Broken China DI and spritzed
• Hero Arts wave pattern background stamp inked with Abandoned Coral DOx and sprayed prior to stamping
• I carved the little Chinese merchant ship... I looked a picture up after I carved out, and I wish I'd carved three sails instead of two... 
• Merchant ship inked 26th Archival in Jet Black
• Sentiment written with a Cricut pen that happened to be in reach...
• Watercolor panel popped up with 3M foam tape

SOS: Trendy!

This week at  Shopping Our Stash, our host is Donna and she is challenging us to rummage through our stashes to create something with a trendy element!

Okay, let me try to rattle some trendy design elements off (largely based on my kids' tastes): cacti/succulents, hashtags, hand-lettering, geometric clean designs, emojis, crystals*...

I couldn't help myself... I went with emoji...

Supplies:

• Poo emoji punch by EK Success punched from a scrap from a Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals playtime.  (The punch is actually my youngest daughter's-- she loves the poo emoji... 💩)
• Micron pen used for sentiment
• Stickles 
• Googly eyes adhered with Glossy Accents

*My teen also let me know that the following things are trendy: Starbucks, Hydroflasks, crop-tops, pop-sockets, Birkenstocks, Netflix, and rap music are trendy.
