This is my card:

Supplies:

• Page from an old French dictionary (120 years old-- stash-much?) sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang spray in Ethereal Emerald (my first LSG product)
• Edges of paper then rubbed with DOx in Vintage Photo and spritzed with water
• Rosette made with vintage seam binding on a Gluber from 2011.  Walnut Stain Distress Paint rubbed to subdue the orange.
• Tim Holtz's Idealogy spinner-arrow-thingy attached with a The Paper Studio pin
• Sentiment written into a scrap of Strathmore watercolor paper with my oldest waterbrush (Distress) with Vintage Photo DOx
• Dina Wakley media tape
• Butterfly from my stash-- packaging long gone
• Orange rhinestones from Michaels' dollar bins at least two years ago
• Whole panel mounted onto a metallic sheet from DCWV's Serenity stack

SOS # 312: Light bulb

(I always think of Gru on Despicable Me when I think of light bulbs... LOL... "Light. Bulb.")

Today marks the beginning of another stash-busting challenge with the gals at Shopping Our Stash.  This week Chris is our hostess, and she's chosen the theme You light up my life: include anything that has a light bulb in it!-- lamps, flashlight, lantern... you get the idea!  Anything with a light bulb in it or on it!

I knew I had this cute little light bulb floating around in a Heidi Swapp baggie, and if you look close... real close... the red pencils say "brilliant" on them, too!

Supplies:

• Background paper and strip from Amy Tangerine's "Finders keepers" stack
• Clipped corners using a Fiskars punch and drew around the edge with a Faber-Castell Pitt
• Light bulb from a Heidi Swapp die-cut Minc pack... I don't even have a Minc...
• Sentiment strips from a Chickaniddy DP from 2014
• Doily shape has been in my stash for years... I want to say it is probably Recollections brand...
• Yellow enamel dots by MME; blue enamel dots by Prima.  Both have been in my stash for at least two years.

HLS: July ATC

Hello!

Made this for my sis, who has always been a panda-lover.  She's now gotten so many cards and projects from me with this stamp... ha!  Hope she likes it!  I will include a note asking her for an ATC back... maybe I'll even include the blank card.

Supplies:

• Base is thin (read "cheap") Pennelli watercolor paper
• Old foam kid's stamp found at the elementary school in a bin, tucked far in an attic.
• Stamp inked with Ranger Archival in Jet Black and barely embossed with Recollection EP in black
• Heart stamp from a Target set
• Star stamps cut from a larger Dyan Reavely Dylusions stamp
• DOx in Lucky Clover and Twisted Citron
• DI in Worn Lipstick daubed around edges 
• Water spritzed to add mottling effect
• Corners clipped with a Fiskars punch
• Edges outlines with Stickles in Black Diamond

CAS berry-tones

Made this last night:

Supplies:

• Tim's Honeycomb Mixed Media die
• Back panel: wrinkle-free distress with Seedless Preserves and Picked Raspberry DOx
• "Thank you" written with the inks listed above using a Jane Davenport waterbrush
• Stickles in Icicle added to the sentiment

That's it.  It is pretty IRL, and was so easy to make.  I actually painted out a bunch of sentiments while I had the waterbrush out with these colors-- they are very nice together.

I have only ever done this (copied a grocery store card) a couple times (like maybe literally two, including this one), but I loved this so much,  I may copy it again!  And again!  Though I feel a little like I'm cheating...

Well, I'm the very proud mother of two... one of which is a full-blown teen.  I saw this quote and couldn't pass up this opportunity:

SOS: CAS for Simplicity Day!

It's time for a new challenge at Shopping Our Stash, and this week I am your host...

with National Simplicity Day on July 12, I am challenging you to make a CAS (Clean and Simple)* card, and if you care to look at the Simplicity Day link above, you will be further-inspired!

*You know, I seldom do anything "clean"... ha ha ha... so if you are a grungy girl like me, just try to keep it simple, huh?!

Here is my project-- a series of cards:

Supplies:

• The background panels are leftover from my spray box-- when the sheets of newsprint gets too inky, I replace them lest they bleed onto future projects, but often I can't discard the colorful sheets, so I tack them to the wall in the shack for some future use... so technically, this sheet has been used three times: once for reading, once in the bottom of my spray box, and now on this card!
• The flowers were diecut from Tim's Wildflowers II from library cards (another upcycled item!), inked with Forest Moss and Crushed Olive DI plus Peeled Paint DOx
• The sentiments of thanks were typed with my second-hand typewriter on library catalog cards
• Further,  a few of these bases had already been stamped and rejected, so I am using them here!

Well, I was nearly blinded in the photography session... so bright in the sunlight...

• Pre-embossed metallic paper from a discount pad inked with various Ranger alcohol inks and blown around with a spray tool

• Core-dinations pink paper as mount to match the foam of the Thickers

Butterfly Birthday

It was fun to make-- just busted it out in a few minutes!  Ahh... CAS is also an acronym for Convenient And Simple!

• Watercolor paper used to mop up extra Color Bursts, then cut into a strip a circle with a die from Autumn... thanks!  I never thought I would use these circle dies so much!  But you knew I would!

• Birthday greeting written with a Zig Emboss Writer and embossed with Ranger EP in Princess Gold

This was a bit of fun:

• Tattered Angels doodled card, flip flops fussy-cut then colored with Sharpies
• Background panel a piece of thin watercolor paper used to mop-up excess Color Bursts on a separate project
• Writing done using a Sharpie, a Spectrum Noir grey pen, and a white Signo

• Library card base inked with Vintage Photo DOx and sprayed with Perfect Pearls in Heirloom Gold
• Background panel is Strathmore watercolor paper coated with Teresa Collins modeling paste through Tim's Roses stencil
• Panel inked with Peacock Feathers DI, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain DOx, and then brayered with Walnut Stain Distress Paint
• Panel affixed with Recollections brads
• Bow is seam binding colored with Iced Spruce Distress Stain.  This was made last year for a project, then never got used. 
• Tim's Paper Dolls coated with a thin layer of Distress Collage Medium in Crazing; once dry, a Hickory Smoke Distress Crayon was drawn around the edges of the image and rubbed in.
• Quote from an old book coated with Distress Collage Medium in Matte
• Darice metallic hemp used as the hanging apparatus

She had used that hashtag in the past,  but when I just looked, I saw none of her stuff... though the gal who seems to post that hashtag could be my twin's twin, based on the posts...

Anyway... my sis loves lime/pea green, black, fish, The Cure, and that hashtag.  And she is a f><&ing artist, man!

• Tag coated with Liquitex gesso then sprayed with Dylusions in Fresh Lime
• Hero Arts fish
• Lyrics scribbled with a Tombow dual tip (the only one I have)
• Stars scribbled with an 005 Micron
• Hashtag stamped using Amy Tangerine's alphabet
• Vintage rayon seam binding and non-vintage sequins from my stash
• Bulging fish eyeballs courtesy of Viva 
• Stickles in Mercury Glass accentuating the fish fins
• Edge of tag run over with Walnut Stain Distress Paint

Good hunting

Here's a tag I started Friday-ish and finished yesterday:

Supplies:

• Library card inked with DOx in Vintage Photo then sprayed with Perfect Pearls Mist in Heirloom Gold* 
• The brown panel is Strathmore watercolor paper coated with Teresa Collins modeling paste through Tim's Florals stencil.  Once dry, I saturated it with Distress Stain in Vintage Photo and added Stampendous Aged Silver Frantage.  The panel was affixed using Recollections brads at the corners.
• The sweet lil' Annie Oakley was coated with a thin layer of Distress Collage Medium in Vintage and mounted with 3M dimensional tape.
• The quote, which was actually the jumping point for this project, was cut from an old school reader and coated with Distress Collage Medium in Vintage also.
• The bow was taken from an old Christmas tag made for my daughter.  The tag had rolled around the junk-drawer in our kitchen since, well, Christmas, and got kinda disassembled. I salvaged the bow and it found a home on this tag!  That is my altered embellishment.  It was already altered by being dyed for the original project.
• The trim at the bottom added a bit of wild-west elegance, I thought.  From my stash.
• The pin at the top is 7 Gypsies.

*This is the actual Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mist-- not the subtle mix I often use that I made myself.  This is the bottom of the sprayer and thus very concentrated!  YUM.

Happy Anniversary

This was made for my parents' 30th wedding anniversary:

They have been together longer than that,  but tied the knot in 1987. They are truly best friends and can't be apart.  It's awesome.

SOS: Flag Day!

This week at Shopping Our Stash, we are celebrating our flags!  July 1st is Canada Day, and July 4th is Independence Day in the USA... show us the colors of your flag!

I knew just what (or should I say who) I wanted to include in my piece:

As soon as I saw the challenge title, I knew I wanted to include this flag bearer!  She is taking her duty seriously!

Supplies and notes:

• Ranger tag base, purchased last summer
• DOx in Faded Jeans and Walnut Stain blended over the card
• My own mix of Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls + water, then dipped a few time into the splats
• Tim's Ledger Script stamp and the flag blueprint stamp inked with Vintage Photo from Tim's Mixed Media palette.  I rarely use the blueprint stamps... had to have them... seldom use them.  I really need to "shop my stash" and use that set more often.
• Another stash item used on this are the straight-up Perfect Pearls.  I used the Perfect Medium through a Heidi Swapp star stencil, then blended the Blue Patina and Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls across the top of the tag.
• Glossy Accents was added to the stripes of the flag stamp and the bottom of the tag, then Festive Berries Distress Glitter added (yet another stash item that doesn't get used nearly enough)
• Old seam binding from my stash... I'd been hoarding it since it's my last yard or so of navy... until I just found more navy at the thrift shop!  Yay!  So I can keep using it!  I wiped it in some DecoArt Metallic Lustre in Gold Rush.  This didn't work great, but it's a nice subtle effect.
• Tim's paper doll popped up on some 3M dimensional adhesive.  She's perfect on here!  I have to tell you guys: I really held out on buying these because I like to find my own people to cut out, but then I saw the packet in the store and was so impressed with the value for the price!  I mean, the pouch is just stuffed with diecut people!  I'd say well worth the money!
• I used some ribbon from my stash for the top-- I knew I wanted a hanging apparatus, but I didn't want it to take away from the tag.
• Red, white, and blue brads added from my stash last
