SOS: So Sweet!

Hello, and thanks for visiting me on this fine Tuesday... a new Shopping Our Stash challenge!  This week,  Alicia is our host,  and she has chosen the theme of "You are so sweet!"... she wants us to feature something  sweet... duh!  Think cake, ice cream, fruit, macaroons, macarons...

Supplies:

• The spotlight features of this tag are the macaron stickers by Jolee's Boutique,  approximately one year old
• Ranger tag embossed with clear EP by Recollections using Distress Embossing Ink through Tim's fairly new stencil (I've had it since March)
• Broken China and Shaded Lilac DIs in background over the clear EP, these have probably been longest in my stash
• Sentiment written with a brush Sharpie and accented wth Pebeo relief liner in glitter... definitely neglected. 
• Liquid pearls line the top and bottom of the tag. This is my original bottle of white Liquid Pearls-- I honestly can't believe this still works!
• The seam binding came from a thrift store.  The DIs didn't show up strongly enough,  so I scribbled some Distress Crayons on my mat, sprayed with water,  and rubbed the seam binding into that.

Live Out Loud

Here is this, made yesterday:

...another card for the camp stash... this will go to my youngest who is the fireball-mini-me... and I'll send a warning to the camp directors!

Supplies:

• The main panel was inked with DOx in Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade 
• I doodled the panel with a Faber Castell Pitt, size M
• The orange mat was in my scrap box... I believe it is Basic Grey

SOS: The Sound of Music

This week at Shopping Our Stash we are thinking about music!

Join us with your musically-inspired creation!

Supplies:

• A large Ranger tag (won recently through Tag Tuesday's Joan) sprayed with Dylusions sprays in Vibrant Turquoise and London Blue... guys, I gotta say: my Dylusions sprays are always in the mix, but I don't think I've used them in a month at least :(
• Old sheet music.  My maternal great grandma was a music teacher and I have her entire stash.  And some of my stash was from my paternal grandfather, brought back from the European theater of WWII.  Anyway, I traced the sheet, cut it out roughly, and stitched it on using my neglected sewing machine. 
• The hearts were cut from Yupo paper previously embossed with a Taylored Expressions sheet music folder and inked with various Ranger alcohol inks.  This paper sat in my stash until this project!  I cut the hearts out and stitched them on.
• Ribbon from a Funkie Junkie Boutique purchase goodie-bag
• "Love and music" stamped with neglected Amy Tangerine alphabet stamps with Vintage Photo Ranger ink from Tim's MM palette
• The washi tape at the bottom has hardly been used. I stitched it on as if it were ribbon.
• The sequins... major stash item... I glued them on with Glossy Accents in a way to make them appear as if they were just dropped on there...

SOS: Fabulous Fabric

This week at Shopping Our Stash, I am your host (hey, it's my first official hosting of this challenge blog... yay!), and I am encouraging you guys to use some fabric stash!  Fabric, fabric tape, fabric shapes... fun!

Supplies:

• Tim Holtz fabric affixed to the Ranger tag with matte Mod Podge. I've had the fabric since at least last summer, and the Mod Podge since Xmas, 2015.
• When dry, tag dipped into DOx + water in Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain, then dried with a heat tool
• Andrea's new stamp set used (YAY, loves it! Go to her Etsy store).  The stitching along the right edge and top, along with the "Be the good" (nod to Gandhi) are from the latest set.  I inked them in Archival in Jet Black.
• The red fabric tape is gaffer's tape from 7 Gypsies... only about 7 years old... literally.
• The lady was found in a thrift shop.  I cut her out and scribbled around her silhouette with Slate Grey Distress Crayon and wiped it with a bit of water.  Then I glued the lady on and laid an acrylic block over her to dry flat.
• Red button from my stash with back snipped off. 
• Excess fabric threaded through the top and tied with red twine, which has been in my stash for about 1.5 years.  
• The "Trust" ticket was the last addition.  I've had those tickets for a few years... they still make an appearance now and then.  I think I am hoarding them-- you don't see them often anymore.  I did a little wrinkle-free Distress technique with DIs and pinned it with a red-tipped pin which was in reach on my desk, and probably belonged to my mother or grandmother.

So, what do you say?  Did you buy any of Tim's fabric that you just need to use?  Or do you have fabric tape that is fun and cute?  Maybe some of the Basic Gray shapes in canvas that I have?  Oooh... or sew something!  Pin cushion jar?  I want to do that soon...

One more Mother's Day card

This one is going to my MIL...

I had made a different card intended for my MIL, but it was mailer-friendly, and so I sent it to my niece's mother.

Supplies:

• Background made with Theresa Collins modeling paste through a STAMPlorations stencil 
• Background colored with Dylusions sprays, then rubbed with DecoArt Metallic Lustre in the turquoise shade (I'm not at the shack now... can't recall the shade's name)
• Tim's wildflowers cut into Strathmore paper and colored with Color Burst powders
• K & Co. rhinestones from at least 6 or 7 years ago
• The Mother's Day stamp is from a generic set... don't even know the company, but I believe it came into my life when my youngest was in preschool or Kindergarten... so... ~4 years ago?  It was inked with Tim's MM palette in Vintage Photo.

Three Anniversary cards

Bought myself some paper the other day... wasn't my fault!  I didn't mean to!  It drew me in... last thing I remember is it was in my cart and I was trying to feel unashamed!

But I gotta say, I have no regrets... although it was a $12 Heidi Swapp pad (after discount), it is a wonderful collection-- some pages are reminiscent of Basic Gray pads of yore... some of my fave papers ever.

Supplies:

• Heidi Swapp papers, some fussy-cut
• Tim Holtz dies
• Stickles in Mercury Glass

That's it!  A bunch of anniversary cards for a bunch of people having anniversaries!

More cards for the camp stash:

If you've ever read my blog, you already know I make a ton of cards to send to my kids while they are away at camp-- the more mail they get, the more embarrassing songs they have to sing in front of the camp!  And this year I am on double-duty as my youngest is now old enough to go!

Anyway.... supplies:

• Background panels made by using Theresa Collins modeling paste through Tim Holtz stencils on Strathmore watercolor paper.
• Once dry, I used Distress Oxide (DOx) for the colors... for the top card, I inked directly to the texture then sprayed heavily with water.  For the bottom card, I inked the mat and then sprayed the mat with water and dipped the panel.  
• Top card: Faded Jeans, Fossilized Amber, Iced Spruce.  Bottom card: Fossilized Amber, Iced Spruce.
• I used Tim's wildflowers cut from Strathmore watercolor paper on the top card, along with a Heidi Swapp chipboard sentiment and some Prima enamel dots.  For the bottom card, I used Heidi Swapp chipboard pieces and MME enamel dots.

Heal Quick

...I wanted this card to say, "Heal real quick" but I didn't have any "e's"...

Supplies:

• Card base from Michael's a few years ago
• Stitched circle die from Autumn, thank you! After I cut the circle from Strathmore watercolor paper, I diecut some of Tim's wildflowers from it, then colored with Color Bursts
• Thickers and Glitz letter stickers

That's it!  I'm taking advantage of the current challenge at TGIF, which is to make either get well or sympathy cards... the cards better to have on hand in a pinch.

Fishy, fishy...

Supplies:

• Hero Arts fish inked with Dina Wakley's MM palette 
• Background created by first writing "Happy Birthday" with masking solution, then spraying Dylusions onto Strathmore watercolor paper and then brushing with water. When dry, I added water drops and the bubbles from the HA set.
• I added a grassy stamp to the bottom to look like sea grass... not sure if I like it...
• The fish were popped up with dimensional adhesive

Happy Mother's Day for my mom

This is the card that I made for my own cherished mother:

She is the best mom I could imagine... I give credit to her for anything I know about parenting.  And gardening.  And art.  She is cool as hell.  Really.  I just want her to live forever.  I told her that recently, and she is so cool, she is like, "Mary, I don't want to live forever!"  She does what she wants, she loves my dad, she loves the simple things.

Supplies and notes:

• Background panel is Strathmore watercolor paper coated with Theresa Collins modeling paste through a Tim Holtz stencil, colored with LSG Magicals in Tiffanylou Blue
• Flowers cut with Tim's wildflower dies in Strathmore watercolor paper, inked in DOx in Spiced Marmalade, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, and Cracked Pistachio
• Entire panel lifted with American Crafts adhesive cork
• Little quote brushed with a Jane Davenport waterbrush in the warm DOx tones
